Tge che ta spetga:

Awareness has become a central concept within club and festival culture — but how can it actually be implemented in practice? This panel brings together people who develop, teach, and apply awareness concepts directly within nightlife settings to share concrete experiences from the field.
At the center of the discussion are questions around training, intervention, responsibility, and structural implementation: What actually works in everyday club situations? Where do awareness concepts reach their limits? And what do clubs and promoters need in order to create more sustainable, safer, and inclusive spaces?
Between theory, nightlife reality, and emotional labor, the panel explores how awareness can move beyond symbolic gestures and become a lasting part of contemporary club culture.

At Zurich Music Week, Hazbi Avdiji from our Team is bringing together people who develop, teach, and live awareness work every day:

Marion Lim (Kauz, Zurich)

Marion Lim has been at the doors of Zurich party organizers and venues such as Les Belles de Nuit, Lush, Porny Days Film Art Festival, and Photobastei for over 10 years. Since 2021, she has been working as a selector at Kauz Club, one of the first Zurich clubs to welcome guests at the door with its own awareness concept. Prior to this, Marion Lim familiarized herself with various club and festival awareness concepts from the German-speaking region out of personal interest. She has also served as an awareness person at events, including at Kauz Club and the Am Bach Festival. Furthermore, as part of the ZHdK program “Trends & Identity,” she delivered a lecture on the topic “Selection – Inclusion and Exclusion.”

Natasha Stegmann (mille sept sans, Fribourg)

Natasha Stegmann (she/her) is an activist and co-founder of MILLE SEPT SANS, a feminist association active in Fribourg since 2015 in the fight against sexist and sexual violence in public spaces. Drawing on her experience with the Aretha Team, which launched the “Aretha Charter” in 2018, she has developed expertise in sexual harassment prevention and the creation of safer environments. Her work helped pioneer in Switzerland a model based on “coveillance”, encouraging collective care, shared accountability and community responses to gender-based violence. Grounded in her experience as a queer person of Asian descent, her activism also focuses on diversity, inclusion and migration, with a strong commitment to anti-racist and decolonial perspectives.

Ida Hadel
Ida Hadel (she/her) has been working at the Initiative Awareness e.V. in Leipzig since 2024. In addition to her extensive work on organizational structures as part of the collective leadership, she provides workshops and counseling on the topics of anti-discrimination and the prevention of (sexualized) violence. She is passionate about power-critical and complexity-aware perspectives and attitudes—which she also promotes through awareness and transformative justice work—and, together with her community, explores how deeply external conditioning is ingrained within us. Ida has spent many years guiding groups in transformative educational work, focusing on collective resilience and balancing demands with gentleness.
