«Not just posters in the bathrooms» – Sexualized violence in clubs and at festivals in Switzerland

We promote gender equality by connecting women, intersex, non-binary, trans and agender people in the music industry and contributing to a lively, respectful, equitable, and discrimination-free music industry.

Over the next three years, we will focus on addressing sexualized violence within the framework of the Diversity Roadmap. The report «Not just a poster in the toilets» on sexualized violence in clubs and at festivals, published in November 2023, provides survey results and action strategies for various stakeholders in the music business, available for download, along with the accompanying folding poster.

A training program on sexualized violence tailored to clubs and festivals is being developed and implemented in collaboration with experts. In addition, formats for knowledge exchange, practical implementation and public awareness activities will be carried out.

The Diversity Roadmap, serving as a network platform on diversity topics, will continue to be developed and updated. We will also connect stakeholders with experts, facilitate exchange, and collectively develop solutions.

This session invites organisations to reflect on their current approaches and to further develop effective awareness work.

The keynote explores why evaluation is the foundation of sustainable structures, where concrete action can be taken, and which guiding questions are essential. Participants will also gain insights into practical approaches and tools, including a newly developed chatbot.

The session takes place as part of m4music, is free of charge, and will be held in English.
